A warm welcome to our Christmas Eve Service, and thank you for joining us as we celebrate the love and light that comes into the world each year, with the hope for peace that all people long for in the world, and in their own lives. At St. Mark’s we light individual candles and sing Silent Night, as we remember the birth of Jesus and the gift of his love for us. The light makes its way from the first candle to the last, signifying the light of Christ coming into the world. We hope you and yours have a blessed and Merry Christmas.
Prayer: O God, you made this holy night shine with the brightness of your light. Grant that here on earth we might walk in the light of Jesus’ presence, and in the life to come wake up to the brightness of his glory. Amen.
Blessing – May God who has called us out of darkness into light, grant us the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, and the peace of the Christ child.
